Imagine being able to control natural sunlight in a far more dynamic way than conventional window coverings. Imagine each window being split into separate sections where you can ensure how the light plays in your room and the amount of privacy you enjoy.
Shutters are made up of individual panels with louvres (these are the horizontal slats in each panel) that can be individually controlled and by adding a horizontal shutter privacy bar (mid-rail) one can effectively even split these panels into two separately controlled louvered sections.
Operating a tilt rod or shutter louvre (Silent Tilt option) you can control the dynamics of each shutter panel to suit the light conditions outside.
The wider the louvre (you can choose from 32mm to 114mm depending on the material type chosen) the more light you will let into your room.
A couple of points you should be aware of:
The wider the louvre the more likely it is to catch any window furniture so your shutter may have to be situated further away from the window.
If privacy is very important to you then our 64mm louvre gives the best balance between light ingress and privacy as when the louvre is tilted at 45 degrees it is very difficult for passers-by to see into your home.
Tier on Tier shutters which is where there are two sets of shutters panels situated one above the other is very good when you would like to fold the top shutter set out the way to let in the maximum amount of light but still enjoy privacy from the bottom shutter set. Our experience shows that in many cases the top set is not folded out of the way and this can result in less light penetration as the window now has the top rail of one shutter set and the bottom rail of the other blocking light coming into the room.
A remote control option is also available as an upgrade, enabling multiple shutter panels to be adjusted in one easy action. Remote controlled shutters are perfect for difficult to reach windows, or large window spans.
